Day 3 - Keepin' my Options Open

This week I signed up for job # 3. Not sure what possessed me, so I have to do a little analysis. First job is Merchandise Rep. I have been doing this for 3 years and I like the flexibility of it. I really don't have a boss, I check in online and email if I have any issues. I can pretty much make up my own schedule. But lately, I am getting tired of driving around the city. I also can't get enough hours in one area of the city to justify the drive. Now that gas is creeping back to the $3 mark, I have scaled back on my territory to just include the accounts that are close by.

Job # 2. I recently started this job in November. This was a rebound job, now that I look at it. I had finished with my physical therapy on my wrist which I broke in August and was feeling a little more independent. I was also starting to feel better from my Pneumonia that knocked me down for a good month. I applied through the Mesa Public Schools and interviewed for a Clerk position in the Spec. Ed. department. I work with the Psychologist, Counselor and Speech Pathologist mostly. I was wanting to get an idea of how it is to work in the schools. It is only 19 hours so I can keep my flexible schedule and work my other job as well.

Job # 3. Substitute Teacher. I talked with the Principal of my kids school (a Charter School) and told her what I was doing with the Mesa Public Schools. We kind of got in a discussion about substituting and she wanted me to fill out an application. I told her I can only commit to Thursday's since that was my day off. She said Great! I will put you on the list for Thursday!

So..Here I am, working three jobs wondering what the heck? I assume I don't want to commit to a full time job, because I need the flexibility still with my kids. With job number #2, I like the people I work with and the environment, but I am bored. I am interested in how I do as a Sub. Hopefully by the end of the school year, I can make up my mind what direction I want to pursue. For now, I am keeping my options open!!

You're gonna be a crazy workin' girl, Miss Barney! But enjoy your options and keep it flexible. Ball season is upon us and we all know what insanity that brings. You and I are going to have to work harder to squeeze in our visits now that you are working on my days off :) JK, we'll make it happen. Hope you are well - we need to chat soon and catch up. LMK if you need anything.
