Its Finished
Yeah!!! I finished my website...or should I say I have a functioning website that takes orders successfully. I still have a ton of work to do on it, but that I can do while the website is up. It has been a learning experience, for sure, and am pretty excited that I accomplished it. Check it out and tell your friends!! www.myperfumecounter.com
Nascar
The only thing I knew about Nascar before yesterday was Jeff Gordon. I learned a lot more yesterday and what do you know, Jeff Gordon won the race. Mike was asked to go to the Nascar race with a few others to enjoy the day, Corporate style. We had a blast and received a lot of perks. The highlight for me was meeting the driver, and going down to the "Pits" and meeting the crew. The race was awesome too, although you have to wear ear plugs and communicate with each other using sign language.
I have been to alot of sports events, but I could not believe the amount of people that were here at Nascar. I would love to go again, as long as I got free stuff and free food. :)

Power Ranger
Seriously the cutest Power Ranger ever. Brett went through a stage where he was obsessed with Power Rangers. I remember everytime we went to Target he would beg for a new one. He would be rewarded for good behavior with a Power Ranger. He watched the videos constantly. One Christmas, he cried each time he opened a present and it was not a power ranger.
So, needless to say, we have left over power ranger toys and videos just waiting to be played with. Josh has picked up on the craze (although he is not as obsessed as his brother was) and enjoys a good joust or two with the swords.

Clean Desk Award
At Brett's school, he brings home a clean desk award each time the teacher checks to make sure all of his things are in order and in the right place. Well, he has brought the idea home....
One night after Mike and I had come home from a night out, I walked into the office and noticed my desk particularly neat. Now, I am organized, but my office is not always orderly. So when I walked in on a clean desk that I knew I had not organized, I began to panic a little. First I called Mike in to ask if he cleaned the desk (pretty much knew that answer but I still needed to check). Then I thought the babysitter did it (again, I was pretty sure she didn't do it, but had to go down the list of most likely suspects). Then as I realized who was next on my list of culprits, I noticed that my papers, bills, misc. notes, etc were no where to be found.
I started to panic and called Brett in. Here is the conversation....
Me: "Brett, did you clean my desk??"
Brett: "Yes"
Me: "Why??"
Brett: "Becasue there was not enough room for the computer"
Me: "Huh?"
Brett: "Mom, there were too many papers, and I can't play my video game with all the stuff around.
Me: "Where are all the papers?"
Brett: "I put them in a pile on the floor"
Me: "Thanks, Brett....."
Okay, I was having a breakdown until I went through my things to make sure everything was still there and he didn't shred or throw any thing away.
I am not sure I can compete with Brett's organization skills. I am sure I can learn a lesson or two.
Easter Sunday
Easter weekend was wonderful, this year! The weather was perfect to get together for the Barney family Easter picnic. This year we brought a Quad and Terri's family brought a little motorcycle. Brett was so excited to try out the motorcycle. Of course he thinks he is getting one for Christmas next year. (I'm pretty sure Mrs. Claus won't let little boys receive motorcycles as a present, even though Santa might think it is a great idea.)
The little kids are so cute when they hunt for the eggs, you can't help but follow them around like a fool taking their picture. Unfortunately, my kids moved too fast, and I mostly got shots of them bending over showing their backside to me. But, we did manage to get a few shots after they found their treasures. Remember this is Phoenix, and when the kids opened their eggs, the chocolate had already melted so there are a lot of messy hands and faces!

Dinner Time
Why does everything crazy happen while you are trying to make dinner??? I think the kids secretly conspire and do crazy, naughty things so you will learn your lesson and NOT spend so much time cooking dinner! They know if they can get you frustrated enough, you will throw in the towel and put a pizza in the oven or go to their favorite fast food food restaurant (favorite being where the best toy is at the moment) so they don't have to eat their peas....Or maybe they are kids and this happens all the time, but I only get frustrated when I am trying to make dinner....
Oh yeah, he did get the green marker on three doors, two walls and one Josh :)
