Real Quick

I want to make sure I get this blog in before it slips my memory. I went to Stephanie Meyer's book tour when she cam to Tempe. It was fun, and I was not the oldest one there! So I didn't feel too out of place. Stephanie talked about her new book "The Host," which I read and loved. Of course, it is not twilight, but it is a great book. She talked about how she has plans for it to become a trilogy and already has outlines for the next two books. She also mentioned that she was almost done editing Breaking Dawn and her next project will be Midnight Sun. Yay!!

We sat behind some college girls that had visited the Twilight set in LA. They were filming the scene at "Rene's house" and they had some great pictures of Robert Pattinson. They also had their Twilight book that was filled with autographs from the cast. Pretty Cool. Oh Yeah, they also got matching tatoo's that day that were on their ankle that said, "Be Safe." Nice to know there are crazier people than me out there. :)

Here is a pic of Stephanie autographing my friend Andrea's book. They were pretty strict on how close you could get to her to take a picture, so it wasn't the best. We had a good time and I can't believe I talked to the person that created Edward!

Graduation

Josh graduated from Pre-Pre School last week. He loved going to Ms. Kristen's and he still talks about her in his prayers. He keeps asking when he can go to preschool, it's hard to explain to him that he is done! He moves on to regular preschool in September. Let's hope we can hold on for 4 months without preschool...it is going to be a long summer for me!!!

Utah Trip

This weekend I went up to Utah to visit my sister and her new baby. She has lived up in Utah for over a year and I have not been up to visit her yet. I was glad that I was able to swing it and Mike stayed home with the boys to hold down the fort. The day before I left, she called to tell me it was snowing that day! I couldn't believe it..When we arrived, it was cold and the wind was blowing but no snow. It did warm up a bit through the weekend, so it was bearable. I stayed at her house in the basement. It was very nice, except again..it was freezing! I had my pajamas on, a robe and two blankets and still froze! I spent most of the weekend holding the baby and loving the break from my routine.

Meanwhile at home, Mike was dealing with kids with diarrhea, vomiting and oh yeah, his 40th birthday! I have some major making up to do :) He did have a nice birthday. I had hid some presents, and our neighbors brought over a cake that had a candle that read 29. Brett was trying to convince the neighbors that his Dad really was 40, instead of 29. He couldn't believe they would make such a mistake! Happy Birthday Mike..I LOVE YOU! Thanks for the weekend, I was trying not to smile when you told me about the kids being sick, I really wish I was there for you - maybe next time!

A closeup of Brandon. I had posted a picture of him when he was born. He did have hair then. When I first saw him I said, "He's bald!" Cynthia immediately corrected me and told me he is just a toe-head and you can't see his hair but it is there. OK, Mama!

Take me out...

We went to the D-backs game with both boys. We were planning on taking off early but the kids really enjoyed the game. We had plenty of snacks and a couple other distractions up our sleeve for Josh. By the 7th inning, Josh and I went to the new area for kids. It has a playground with 4 slides and a batting cage to test their skills. Brett and Mike joined us later and we ended up staying for the whole game. Of course Brett and Josh didn't leave empty handed. They got new t-shirts and hats and I caught a t-shirt they threw into the crowd. Actully, I was pretty surprised that I caught it, fans can get pretty rough when they are handing out free stuff. Obviously, I looked like someone who they wouldn't mess with - HA!

Looking forward to a fun game!!




Mike gave in and bought them new D-backs gear. Right before the picture, Brett told Josh to move his hat to the side...too cute :)

I'm Sick, Gimme a Break..

I started sneezing while I was outside watching a baseball game, so I thought it was my allergies, but...It kept going. Despite my great efforts to deny this cold any space in my body, it overtook me anyway. The next day, I was pretty miserable. Sneezing every second and a soar throat to ensure this was a cold. I wanted to curl up in my bed and hide, but as a Mom, you don't have that luxury. So I went along my way.

I planned to go to the temple that morning and I went ahead because at least I can sit quietly for a good hour and a half. I had my kleenex's and tic tacs and I was good. The rest of the day required errarnds and cleaning and kids. By the evening I was pretty much done. With my boys, you need to keep on top of what they are up to or else it can turn into a free for all pretty quickly. I was tired, so my mothering skills had started to slip. Mike didn't get home until 9:00 pm because it was Young Mens so the night kind of took a turn for the worse. Here is my scenario. If you don't have boys, maybe you can get a peek to the other side. I know growing up with all girls, I had no idea.

Dinner - Sandwiches outside on the picnic table. Good for me because easy prep and easy cleanup. Also, the birds can pick up the floor..that is their territory. Brett and Josh decided to have fun with eachothers meals. Brett put rocks in Josh's sandwich and Josh dumped punch on Brett's. When Brett asked for another sandwich, I told him too bad, he should have eaten faster.

Bathtime - I sent Brett to the shower ( he is 7 and can handle this himself..usually). He took this opportunity to streak around the house and Josh joined him. Now, when two boys are running around the house naked, nothing good can come of it. Brett told me to come quick because Josh is peeing in the sink..huh? When I got to the bathroom, he showed me a few places he thought would be fun to pee. Hmm, Now I have to clean the whole bathroom to make sure I'm covered.

Bedtime- Yea right. This turned into baseball practice with the culmination of a light being shattered. I swear I put the bats and balls outside everyday, but they keep coming back!! After Baseball practice, its wrestling practice. Soon, I have to put each child in separate ends of the house and turn off the lights so everyone can go to bed.

Finally the day is over until Dad comes home from YM and brings treats for the kids. Great..Dad it's your turn this time, I'm outa here. :)

Baseball Season

I love Baseball Season. It is fun to watch the kids and hang out. Mike is coaching this year, so we are there early and stay late...so on Game days that means no cooking dinner for me...yay! This year the kids can catch, throw and hit pretty well. They really get a sense of accomplishment because the team is actually working together rather than all converging on the ball and crying when they don't get the ball.

I have also been working part time so that is keeping me a little more busy than I am used to. I have probably bitten off more than I can chew, of course, because I think I can do everything, sound familiar?? So I have had to learn to back off and take baby steps. I am so ready to move forward and I am going to have to wait until my family is ready to move with me.
