Brandon Trent

Cynthia finally had her baby...He was 4 days over due, but everything went very smoothly and he looks perfect. Congrats to Cynthia and Trent, first time parents. The fun has just begun!

Cupcake Anyone?

So this is Brett eating a purple cupcake at the Suns game. Mike and Brett went to the game and it was the Gorilla's Birthday. So, in Gorilla style they threw them into the crowd. Brett picked his up from the floor. Good thing he is 7 and not to picky!! They had fun and the Suns won the Kings 127 - 99! They also sat next to Shaq's brother. How do we know that?? He was lucky enough to sit next to Mike Barney :) Poor guy probably had no idea. Mike even got Shaq's new AZ address. Leave it to a UPS guy to find the address right? Mike told me all the stats on Shaq and his bro. I'm sure if the wife was there, Mike would have got a not so gentle reminder to leave the guy alone and watch the game.

Love Notes

Brett made this last night and he put it in his Dad's cooler that he takes to work. No one saw him make it and no one saw him sneak it into his Dad's Lunchbox. This morning when Mike was filling up his cooler for the day, he found it and left it out for me to see. When Brett woke up, he said, "Hey, where did you get that?" I told him his Dad thought it was so nice, he wanted me to see it. He got an cute little look on his face..He has his moments :)




This is a picture of Joshy. He usually helps himself to a drink all the time. When I came into the kitchen, I noticed he had something other than liquid in his cup. It was sugar. He had loaded his cup up from the sugar bowl. I had to let him have one "Sip" of his drink before I could take it away. I guess I need to hide the Sugar bowl now...

DDR Rocks

So it was my birthday on Sunday and it was a pretty good one. Hey, I didn't have to do Sharing Time so that was a treat! Mike had been sick for most of the weekend, and spent most of it in bed. Brett made me his "Best Card Ever." He made sure that I knew that, because he is expecting one in return on his B-Day. My boys made cupcakes for me and they were yummy! The biggest surprise was my present. I got the Wii version of Dance Dance Revolution (DDR). I was really excited. I was not expecting it at all. Brett and I have been playing it and it is pretty addicting. Last night, after Brett went to bed, I was still playing until 9:30 when Josh finally said, "Mom..That is all okay??" I guess I need to do my motherly duties and put him to bed too.....I need a few more practices than I am ready for any Chanllengers :)

Thank Heavens for Rob

This morning, I woke up before my alarm which is good and bad. Good that I am not in Josh's room and Mike doesn't have to come wake me up before he leaves for work and Bad, that I am not still sleeping. Anyway, I felt good! I turned on the TV to watch the news before I got out of bed and the phone rang. It was one of my BFF's, Toni calling to say Hello. I got up to check email and get breakfast ready for the kids. I started thinking about how today I was going to make it to 25 miles today. No problem, I was ready for it.

When I got back from taking the carpool to school, I was ready and started out strong and probably faster then my normal pace. I was pretty much dying half-way through. What had happened?? I was mentally and physically ready to kill it today and I was choking!! I had to regroup because I wanted to make my goal today, it was so close. So I quickly turned my IPOD to one of my favorite songs and than played it over and over again until I made my goal. I did it. Then as I was slowing down and trying to recover, I noticed that my incline was set to 3, which isn't that much, but I have never ran 2 1/2 miles at a 3 before today. No wonder my legs are sore right now!! But Thanks to Rob Thomas, I would have never made it.

Don't Talk...I'm Working

So, yesterday morning, I was on the treadmill and Josh came in to my bedroom. He jumped up on my bed and started typing on my Laptop that was lying there. I heard him typing away, so I said,

"Josh, Don't touch the computer!" "Mommy's almost done, go into you room and play with some cars."

Well, Josh immediately said, "Don't Talk...I'm Working!"

Then I thought, do I say that to him, when I am on the computer??...probably not in those exact words, but he must get that message.

So I asked him again. "Okay, Josh, Good job, your work is done! Now go into the other room to watch cartoons."

I got another "Don't talk...I'm Working" response, but soon he was down and out of the room. Well, I finished up my excercise and noticed the computer. Can you believe that he actually wiped it clean!! Seriously, the screen had a "Welcome to Windows" message with a prompt for me to select my language and Time mode. What?? In about 3 minutes time, he actually pressed the right combination of buttons to restart the computer just like you were taking it out of the box brand new. Luckily, I had some things backed up but when he said, "Don't Talk...I'm Working" I should have realized he really was!

Mid - Life

Mike is turning the big 4-0 this year, and he started thinking about his lack of excercise. He wanted to buy an eliptical, just because he thought they looked like they would do the job. He has never actually used one before. Before he made the purchase, luckily he talked with me. First, I knew he would not use it, second, I would not use it either because I don't like them!! I did finally talk him into a treadmill. I told him he could walk and run and it would be great for him. So, he found a treadmill he liked and so far he has used it once and I have used it about 4 x a week. Yeah for me!! I can work out in my pajamas, or whatever the heck I want and I am loving it...

Josh and Brett think it is pretty fun too..If Josh is awake when I start to excercise, he makes sure he gets his turn first, because mom's turn takes too long. My goal is to run 100 miles before swimming season!
